A reason to live

Redford has decided not to move to France.

(Best quote in the story comes from the Calgary columnist who said, "Stay home, you pathetic, whining maggots!" Sorry, Huw, I know you don't like the snarky stuff, but this one was too good to pass up.)

Surely it's a sign of Blue-State hubris that some people care whether they move to another country or not. As far as I'm concerned, let 'em go! Let Mr Redford see how they treat filmmakers in the Netherlands. . . .

I admit that that's exactly what I was waiting for, but it's just as well I'm being denied. It is vindictive of me, no doubt.

Omigosh! How could we recover from that loss? Think of the economic impact to wig-makers alone!!!

I think if I were counseling the glitterati right now, I would tell them that they really have to offer up some token celeb that really does move, or lose all credability when they say this the next time. And it can't be a grade-B who-cares type. I think we throw out a Baldwin -- what the heck, there are always spares. But watch which one -- one of them actually came out for Bush.
